Keyhole surgery

We are very proud to offer keyhole surgery (Laparoscopic surgery) for pets.

What is keyhole surgery?

Keyhole surgery is an excellent way of performing operations on your pet through a very small hole – usually less than 1cm. We take a camera to show a bright, magnified and clear area and use a vast range of up-to-date surgical instruments to perform different procedures.

The benefits of keyhole surgery:

Less pain and less invasive

Your pet can feel less uncomfortable after surgery with this technique. With such a small incision, there is a lot less tissue trauma, it is much less invasive and not as painful after surgery. Like you, we do not want to see your pets in any discomfort, so we do our best to reduce this as much as we can for them.

Quicker recovery

As the keyhole wound is so small, there are fewer potential complications after surgery. The chances of infection are lower and there is a lot less scarring, which speeds up the recovery time. Normally, after traditional surgery it takes around 2-3 weeks before your pet is back to itself again, however, with keyhole surgery it tends to be just a few days! This means less time cooped up and more time playing!

Clear view for the surgeon

Using this advanced technique enables us to see clearly and in great detail during an operation. It also allows us to perform a delicate operation in good time, which means more time getting your pet on the mend. With this advanced surgery, we can operate on areas that are often tricky to reach and the technique helps us to spot otherwise difficult-to-detect underlying issues.
